Prof. Alexander Christian

Life

Alexander studied law at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald from 1993 to 1998. From 1998 to 2001, he worked there, initially as a student assistant and later as a research assistant at Axel Beater's Chair of Civil Law, Comparative Law, Business and Tax Law. He subsequently obtained his doctorate in law and completed his legal traineeship (Referendariat) in the district of the Berlin Higher Regional Court, with placements in the legal department of the Charité University Hospital and the Federal Ministry of Justice, among others. After passing the Second State Examination, he worked from 2003 to 2009 as a research assistant at Helmut Köhler's Institute for International Law - European and International Business Law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. In 2009, he completed his habilitation at Ludwig Maximilian University and was authorized to teach Civil Law, European Private Law, German and European Commercial Law, Media Law, and Civil Procedure Law. From 2009 to 2011, Alexander held the Chair of Civil Law, Antitrust Law, Commercial, Corporate, and Business Law at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. Since 2011, he has been a university professor at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena and holds the Chair of Civil Law, Business Law, and Media Law.
