KAWASHIMA Fujio
Professor, Graduate School of Law, Kobe University, Japan

Professor Kawashima has been teaching competition law and international economic law at several universities, and researching the WTO dispute settlement mechanism, development of competition laws in Asian economies, especially Antimonopoly Law of China, as well as trade and competition policy. Meanwhile, he has also contributed to the capacity building of competition law enforcing agencies and trade-related ministries of many developing economies as lecturers of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), providing training courses on competition law enforcement and implementation of the WTO agreements. He was: Visiting Scholars at Georgetown Law Center (2000) and at KoGuan Law School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2016-2017). He is: Council Members of the Japan Association of Economic Law (& a standing council member in charge of annual publication) and the Japan Association of International Economic law; a Member of the Study Group on Economic Security and Competition Policy organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan. He was: a Member of the E15 Expert Group on Competition Policy and the Trade System organized by the World Economic Forum and ICTSD; a Member of the Study Group on Governmental Regulations and Competition Policy organized by Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC); and a Member of the Study Group on the GATT/WTO Dispute Settlement Reports organized by the METI.
