Competition Law Association of Shanghai Law Society

The Competition Law Association of Shanghai Law Society is a specialized academic institute under the direct governance of Shanghai Law Society. It was approved by the Shanghai Law Society in 2014, and remains one of oldest competition law associations in China. Its purpose is to organize and unite antitrust specialists in Shanghai with a purpose of developing antitrust research, and strengthening competition law practice in China.

 

There are more than 70 members until now from different institutes in Shanghai, such as universities, courts, competition agencies, law firms, internal legal counsels etc. The current president is held by Distinguished Professor WANG Xianlin (Shanghai Jiao Tong University).

 

The activities organized by the Association include but not limited to:

 

1.     To develop research in relation to antitrust, unfair competition and consumer protection,

 

2.     To organize academic conferences,

 

3.     To set a platform to teaching relating to antitrust, unfair competition and consumer protection,

 

4.     To conduct consultancy, researcher, evaluation, and training requested by governments and corporations,

5.     To improve international cooperation on competition law between the Shanghai Community and the rest of the world.
